Stock bought in a company buy back don't go to anyone, it gets retired as treasury stock and reduces the number of shares outstanding.

FWIW, when it comes to dividends it's best to just look at the ex-dividend date. Simply, in order to get a dividend you need to hold the stock at the end of the day prior to its ex-dividend date.
