true, there are multiple CDOs - but as you point out, a few must already use principal payments for senior note amortization, and i believe by 2016, all interest payments to NRF will stop, in favor of senior...

maybe, but...it may be a real long time before there's any appetite for CDO-type deals again. and the REIT, they say, should have a 1% mgmt fee - at their hoped-for $1 billion size, this will only get $10 mm/year.. .

coming up with book value is an imprecise art for banks. CRBC has reserved for only about 50%of its NPLs, which is far less than most respected banks...

Nope, it's not going to be converted into anything. You're stuck with a fairly illiquid form of PHI. but there is a bid/ask on it if you really want to sell.

Lucky they did that $40 mm debt buyback at a 12% yield a few months ago. Now they turn right around & borrow it again, but at least the poor bankers get some fees out of all ths.
